December 11, 2020, CLAXTON, GA – Beginning Monday December 14, work will start on the new Emergency Department Project at Evans Memorial Hospital. The project will consist of adding two additional vertical treatment rooms and another hybrid behavioral/medical treatment room in the ED. Also, a new triage space for better patient flow will be created and repositioning of ED registration in their current space to improve staff productivity.
“This project aims to create a more purposeful workspace in the ED to serve our patients, staff, and community better,” states Bill Lee, Chief Executive Officer, Evans Memorial Hospital.
In preparation, the ED registration and waiting room has been temporarily relocated to continue service to patients through the construction progress. Signs are placed throughout the Emergency Department entrance, registration and waiting room area to inform the patients and community of the temporary work to improve our facility.
The ED project is expected to take approximately 3-4 weeks to complete.
