Why did you choose to work in medicine? I always had a knack for science, but it was when I was around 13 years old that my father became very ill and was hospitalized for almost three months. During that time I became very familiar with spending large amounts of time in a hospital. I watched as the doctors and nurses worked to bring my father back from the brink of death on numerous occasions. I developed such an admiration for the field of medicine that I knew I had to become a part of it in some way.

What do you enjoy most about your job at Archbold Memorial Hospital? Archbold is a very unique place to work. The hospital has a “small town” feel, but the abilities and resources of a hospital you would find in a big city. In my current role with SouthlandMD at Archbold, I have the opportunity to help implement changes and help guide multiple aspects of patient care.

Why do you work with SouthlandMD? One of my good friends, and current SouthlandMD Hospitalist, Dr. David Mederos, introduced me to Dr. Lee. I spoke with Dr. Lee on the phone in early spring of 2016 and a few weeks later I was touring Archbold and Thomasville. Coming to work for SouthlandMD was a big decision for me. I packed up my life in Ohio and took a chance to travel 1000 miles to take on the role of Medical Director. Dr. Lee was very supportive and encouraging of me joining the company, I signed my contract and started my position in July 2016.
