PA School: University of Florida, Physician Assistant Program
With SouthlandMD since 2012

Why did you choose to work in medicine? I joined the US Coast Guard at age 17 and was trained as a Hospital Corpsman. It was in this environment I was introduced to medicine. While stationed in New Orleans my Coast Guard boss felt I needed more training in suturing. I was sent to work in the ER of Charity Hospital, my first exposure to Emergency Medicine. I found Emergency Medicine fascinating, intense, and was captivated by the skill and compassion of those who worked there. After completing my military obligation I moved to Gainesville, Florida where I was accepted to the University of Florida Physician Assistant Program.

Why do you work at Mitchell County Hospital and with SouthlandMD? I met Dr Allen Lee and Dr Jay Williams nine years ago and began working for SouthlandMD the following year at Mitchell County Hospital ER in Camilla, Georgia. MCH is one of three affiliate hospitals for the Archbold Hospital network located in Thomasville, GA.

"Working here at MCH has been incredibly gratifying. There is a clear emphasis and expectation to provide quality Emergency Medical care for our community. I was attracted to SouthlandMD's core values of excellence, compassion, responsibility, and innovation. I value the collaboration, support, and friendship with my SouthlandMD colleagues."
